Property Overview
Constitution Co-op is nestled in the historic community of Charlestown, Massachusetts. It was built in the heart of City Square. This co-op is located directly on the Freedom Trail. It is only minutes from the historic Bunker Hill Monument and the Charlestown Naval Yard, the final resting place of the U.S.S. Constitution, the oldest commissioned ship in the US Navy.
Constitution Co-op is a 7-story midrise 120-unit affordable community for seniors ages 62+. In addition, a limited number of residential dwelling units are designed and constructed to be accessible to mobility-impaired persons 18+ who need the design features of those units.
The construction of Constitution Co-op was completed in 1985. In 2022, Constitution Co-op started renovations of apartments that consist of new kitchen cabinets, counter tops, flooring, and new heating/air equipment. Building renovations are ongoing with a completion date of 2026.
Constitution Co-op Apartments is transforming into a smoke-free community. Smoking is not permitted in any location of the building or within 25 feet of the building by new resident members. A handful of resident members were grandfathered in, to be able to smoke only in their apartment.
Constitution Co-op is enhanced by its oversized apartment windows that overlook the city of Boston. Each floor has a large, beautiful lounge with plush furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows that usher in the morning sun. This is a perfect area to sit and have a morning cup of coffee.

Constitution Co-op has many services that are from outside agencies, such as rent assistance programs, laundry services, food pantry services, Chair Yoga, Fire prevention and evacuation classes twice a year, and a FREE local shuttle bus to the local supermarkets every Thursday at 10:00 AM.
Constitution Co-op is located on two MBTA bus lines, minutes away from Downtown Boston and the expressway. Local places of interest within a 15-minute walking distance:
