Member testimonial: I found myself homeless for many years (due to some bad decisions on my part) and I even lived at a Salvation Army shelter for 3 months, which at the time was a life saver (I was depressed). It took 2 years for the initial contact with Barton Towers and when I got a call there was an available apartment, I was thrilled. Let me just say that being here is FREEDOM, I finally have my own apartment! I couldnt be happier and more grateful. I have made so many friends, which at this stage of life is usually very difficult. I keep very busy, I volunteer on 5 committees, 2 of which Im the chairperson. I have attended 2 management conferences which are the highlight of my year! I attend a lot of education meetings, activities in our own building, workshops in our own building, play cards and Bingo, utilize our van trips as much as possible, help out wherever I am able to. I am so excited to live at Barton Towers. I love it here! There is always someone to talk to and it has improved my life immensely! I LOVE THE CO-OP LIFE. I have lived in many apartment buildings but I never knew more than a few neighbors, here I know practically everyone and we are like family, we look out for each other. - Bonnie Lerner, Member at Barton Towers
